MAC Cut A Caper

At First Was A Miss, But Now It's A Hit!

I had been waiting for this lipstick to be re-released from MAC and ordered it the second it went online.  I was actually disappointed with it at first and put it in a drawer until now.  I really believed that this was a bust product for me and I was crushed because I was in love with it's color.  That's why I had to write this post today.

I decided to give it another try but using it up underneath a lip gloss this time.  Before I could even get the lipgloss on, I realized a difference in the lipstick.  I had thought it was drying at first, but now it seems to be creamy and leave a slight glossy finish.  I am now thinking it was just my lips recovering from my dehydration after delivering my son.

I like to try a product a few times before I write a negative thing about it and I am so glad I did. I will be grabbing for this for the remainder of August and September and possibly layering it for a fall look.

Cut A Caper has a Lustre finish and was repromoted with MAC's Heavenly Creature Collection.  It is still available on the Nordstrom website.

Do you have a product that was a bust before it was a lust?  Sorry about the cheesy lines.  Just love it!

Current Favorite Lip Combo: NYX, Revlon, & MAC

My Current Favs for my Lippies!

This is something that generally changes week to week for me, as I am sure it does with most people.  I have recently become more into lip products and feel like I am buying new things every chance I get.  With all the new products I have to choose from it is really hard to pick just one favorite, but these 3 products are my current favorites of this week.

And the combo is:

NYX Lipliner in 810 Natural
REVLON Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in 001 Honey
MAC Lustreglass in Pinkarat

Sorry this picture is a little dark.  I use natural lighting and it has been cloudy for days.  But the colors still show true.

The end result!

I just love this combo! The liner is more brown, while the balm stain is more mauve, and topping it with the pink gloss with golden shimmer gives it an overall shimmery nude look.

What is your current favorite lip combo?

I have been hesitant to do actual lip swatch photos lately because I am currently battling Melasma due to pregnancy.  Melasma is darkening of the skin in areas or spots.  I am 9 months pregnant and as soon as my new little man gets here I will be blogging about my journey to get my skin back to normal.

Happy Monday! I hope everyone has a great week!

MAC Hey Sailor! Lipglass in Orange Tempera

I wrote about this in my MAC Hey Sailor! Haul post but I did not include a photo or swatch.  To be honest, I was on the fence about keeping it.  It looked much different in person that it did in other swatches I had seen online.  But after a few days of looking at it, I decided to keep it and I am glad I did.

Hey Sailor! Packaging

I was not crazy about the blue stripes going over the color.  I felt it took away from the color itself.

MAC Orange Tempera Lipglass

I love lipglasses that I can wear on their own and they still look great.  I so badly wanted to LOVE this one, and I DO!  I also paired it with MAC's liners in Subculture and Summerfruit to achieve different looks.  Here are some combos, my favorite is layered over Subculture.

Swatches Left to Right:  MAC Creamstick Liner in Summerfruit, MAC Lipglass in Orange Tempera, MAC Lip Pencil in Subculture

Orange Tempera applied alone.

Orange Tempera applied over Summerfruit.

Orange Tempera applied over Subculture. My favorite combo!

I know this product is Limited Edition but last time I checked it was still available at my local MAC counter and on the Nordstrom westite. Follow this think to buy it from Nordstrom:  Hey Sailor Lipglass at Nordstrom I wanted to share it with you guys in case you still wanted to purchase it!

REVLON Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in CHARM

The latest edition in my REVLON JUST Bitten Kissable Balm Stain collection!

I have written about these before but this is my newest color and wanted to share.  Just like the blog post before, Charm is also in a plastic tube with a twist up bottom, and has a slight menthol/minty scent.  After about an hour of wear you will notice some of the glossy finish begin to disappear but the stain remains. =)

I love this color! It is a light delicate peach, that just gives your lips a subtle hint of color.  I would definitely recommend exfoliating your lips prior to using this shade of this product has it could amplify the look of dead skin.

 CHARM 035

On Lips

I can not say enough good things about these REVLON Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains.  I enjoy wearing them so much! They are moisturizing and from the ones that I own, they each give the perfect amount of color.  I will probably be adding more of the darker colors to my collection for fall! =)

I definitely recommend this product for anyone who is looking for a good quality moisturizing lip stain.  REVLON makes amazing products and has become my favorite go to drug store brand.

Let me know if you have picked up any of these and how you like them!

Happy Monday!! I hope everyone had a great weekend!
