L'oreal Youth Code Day/Night Lotion Review

I think this is a pretty good product.  The consistency is very nice, it has a light but pleasant smell, and absorbs into the skin beautifully.  The one down side to it being both a day and a night cream is that there is no spf in it. You would have to wear an additional sunscreen during the day if you wanted sun protection.  On the other hand, if you have an irritation to some sunscreens or need a moisturizer with out any due to photographs then this is great!

I like that you can use it for day or night.  It makes it more affordable that way.  This actually came attached to a face wash in a set I found at Target.  When I purchased it , the set was clearanced for only $10! I believe the lotion itself  normally retails for $20 at Walmart or Target and is probably a few dollars more at your local drug store.

Overall, I think it's a  great product with only one downfall.

This is just my opinion.  I would love to know if you've used this product and what you thought of it.

NOTD: Wet n Wild in Grape Vine

After several comments on my nail color that I was wearing in my video (you can watch it here) yesterday, I decided to do a NOTD post.

This color is so pretty! I think it's a perfect berry color for going into Fall.  As with all Wet n Wild Megalast polishes the formula is amazing and the application was so smooth.  I love the brush it makes applying it that much easier!

If you haven't tried this brand, I definitely recommend it!

NOTD: OPI My Very First Knockwurst

This is another polish from the recently released Germany Collection from OPI.  It is a milky greyish pink and with just two coats it is very opaque.

I think this polish is a great alternative to all of the tan based nudes.  This is definitely pink, but it is more subdued.  It is creamy and beautiful and perfect for fall and winter.

Swapping A Name Brand Product For A Store Brand

Neutrogena vs. Target and Walmart Brands

I have found another awesome store brand product!  Both the Target and Walmart eye makeup removers perform exactly like the one from Neutrogena.

I tested both the Target and Walmart brand for a week each, while using the Neutrogena product on the other eye.  There was no noticeable difference in performance.  I was very pleased with both of the "off" brands and I will continue to use one or the other and save myself on average $2.70.  It's like getting your jumbo bag of cotton balls for free. =)

NOTD: OPI Berlin There Done That Swatch & Review

I am in love with this color!!

Berlin There Done That was just released with the OPI Germany collection.  It is a medium grey with some brown in it and has a creme finish.  It is similar to another one of my favorites, Essie's Chinchilly.

The formula is smooth and it applied so easily.  I applied 2 coats and it lasted without a top coat for over a week before the tips started to fade.  This polish is already one of my favorites and I know I'll be grabbing for this all fall and winter.

Products I've Used Up In July and August

I love these type of posts and videos so much that I decided to start doing my own.  It looks like I used up a ton of stuff but some of these products were already half way used up.

Empties

Bath and Body Works Caribbean Escape hand soap
Philosophy Inner Grace body spray
Philosophy Inner Grace perfume spray
Soft Soap Coconut Scrub body wash
Bath and Body Works Into the Wild body scrub
Bath and Body Works Hawaii Coconut body scrub
Joico K-Pak treatment
BioSilk Silk Therapy Conditioner
Bath and Body Works Home Oil
Bath and Body Works True Blue Spay Shea lotion
Joico Moisture Recovery shampoo and conditioner
Curel Itch Relief lotion

MAC Paintpot in Painterly
Philosophy Purity Made Simple face wash
Equate eye makeup remover
Olay Regenerist  face wash
Bath and Body Works True Blue Spa Apricot and White Tea facial scrub
Neutrogena eye cream
Various samples

Instead of me telling you what I would repurchase, I will list the things I wouldn't repurchase.
  • Biosilk Silk Thereapy Conditioner - It did nothing for my hair and still left it tangled and hard.
  • Welda Almond Cleansing Lotion - I posted an earlier review here.  This was a sample and it did not feel cleansing to me at all.
  • Neutrogena eye cream - After using the whole tube, I did not see any difference in my skin.
Everything else I would repurchase! I have already repurchased the Joico shampoo and conditioner, Olay face wash, and Equate eye makeup remover. I have some Into the Wild products stocked up because they were discontinued. =(

What products have you used up this month? If you wrote an empties post, link your post below.

Monthly Favorites: August 2012

Happy Wednesday everyone! I have been so busy with traveling and the start of the school year for both me and my son that I just now had a chance to do this post.  I can't believe that the summer is over and September is here already.

I am very excited because this is my first ever "Monthly Favorites" post! Here we go!

Bath and Body Works Wild Apple Daffodil body Scrub
I love their body scrubs and this scent is amazing.  It is very light and fresh.  Unfortunately, it was only a seasonal scent.

The Body Shop Coconut Body Butter
This scent is pure coconut heaven.  The body butter is thick but easy to work into your skin. I loved using this every day.  It left my skin moisturized but not greasy.  I picked this mini up at the counter in Ulta but I will definitely purchase the large size and use it to help with my dry winter skin.

Maybelline Dream Lumi Concealer in Radiant
This is a salmon colored concealer and it really helps to conceal the dark circles under my eyes.  I have an 11 week old and I don't get a lot of sleep.  This concealer gives me a "my baby slept through the night look"!

Sonia Kashuk Blush in Sunset
I absolutely love this blush.  The color is a stunning coral and the price can't be beat! I found myself reaching for this blush most of the month.  It was perfect for summer cheeks.

Essie Lapiz of Luxury
This is one of my all time favorite summer polishes to wear. I wore it on my toes for most of the month of August.  I just love the color!

Cover Girl Lash Blast Waterproof Mascara
This was a new product for me this summer.  I'm pretty picky about my mascara and tend to stick to only Maybelline and Loreal for drug store mascaras.  I tried this on a whim and really like the formula.  It does great for my lashes and it doesn't flake!

MAC Cut A Caper
I recently did a post on this lipstick, you can see it here.  Once I retried this lipstick and realized I loved it, I couldn't stop using it.  The color is a soft coral and one of my new summer favorites.

I would love to hear what some of your August favorites were!
