Maybelline Eye Studio in Cooper Chic Swatches: My New Love

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Beauty on a budget doesn't have to be boring.  This is probably one of the most beautiful eye shadow quads I have seen a the drugstore.  This is part of Maybelline's permanent collection so you can find it almost everywhere that Maybelline is sold.  Depending on where you shop, you'll find it for anywhere from $6 to $10.  I suggest Walmart of Target for your best price.  While drug stores are convenient, they always jack up the price a bit.

These colors have been so perfect for a colorful summer look.  But at the same time, I look at it and see fall and autumn leaves. I can already tell it's going to be a quad I go to all year long.  The only thing that is missing from this quad is a matte shade for the crease but I have so many that it wasn't a problem for me.  This quad creates beautiful looks with or without an additional shade.

You will most definitely see a tutorial with this quad soon.

Thanks for checking out one of my  new favorites!!

Flower Cream Blush in Pure Petunia

Today I'll be reviewing the Flower cream blush in Pure Petunia.  This is going to be very similar to a previous post on the Flower cream blush in Peach Blossom.

The packaging is simple and beautiful.  The white and rose gold colors just speak to me. It has a flip top, which for me is always a plus since I feel like I'm always dropping my lids.

This cream blush is creamy in consistency and blends out beautifully on the skin.  I have used both my fingers and a Real Techniques Stippling brush to apply it.  I love it equally both ways.  But I do prefer the to use the brush on days I'm wearing this blush on top of foundation.  The use of the brush prevents any movement of the foundation.

The size is compact and the product size is very close to the same size as a MAC eyeshadow.

This color is simply beautiful.

NYX Blush in Summer Peach: The Perfect Summer Blush

NYX Blush in Summer Peach is one of my new favorites! It's the perfect summer blush color.  It is a beautiful peach that provides such a gorgeous flush to your cheeks.

I have recently developed a love for many NYX products and this blush is no exception.  I have gotten so much use out of it already.  I feel like it goes perfectly with the bronze eye looks that we all love to wear during summer time and looks equally as perfect if it's only a mascara, blush, and gloss day.

Summer makeup is meant to be light and easy.  I love this blush for a beautiful pop of peach on my cheeks and an every day summer glow.

What is your favorite NYX blush?

Maybelline Color Whispers in Pin Up Peach and Cherry on Top: My Current Go To Shades

First, I love the packaging.  I'm always drawn to the packaging and I love this.  I love that it's thin and sleek and they easily fit in to my back pocket or in a small clutch.

Both of these shades are perfect for me for summer.  I love wearing Cherry On Top for an easy everyday bright pink lip.  Pink Up Peach has been my go to color on days I'm wearing a bronzed or golden eye look.  They are both simply beautiful.

The formula is smooth and comfortable on the lips.  They have a shorter wear time than a regular lipstick, which I don't mind.  I actually enjoy getting to reapply these.

Left: Pin Up Peach , Right: Cherry On Top

R to L: Cherry On Top, Pin Up Peach

These are my current go to shades from the Maybelline Whisper's line.  I have been getting so much wear out of the both of them.

What are your favorites from this line? I would love your recommendations.

NYX Blush in Natural: Swatches and Review

With a name like "Natural", I expected this to be more of a taupe color.  Well it's not! It's quite possibly the most beautiful light rosey pink color I've seen.

I can wear this blush almost every day with just about any makeup look.  It gives my cheeks the perfect natural flush and I seriously can not get enough of it.

Natural is a matte finish blush and the texture is silky, but not powdery.  I found that this blush had amazing pigmentation and I only needed one layer to achieve the color I desired.  I think this blush is best suited for lighter skin tones, as it may not show up as well on those of you with darker skin.

My Target Beauty Box Has Arrived

A month or two ago, I ordered the Target Beauty Box through a Target Beauty Facebook link.  The cost of this box was $5.00 and after receiving it I think it was worth the price.  I would have been a little happier to see one more sample sized item and one less packet but none the less I am pleased.

I love Fekkai hair products and the Venus razors are my favorite.  I think the Sally Hansen Salon Effects will be fun to play around with.  They aren't something I would have purchased on my own, but will be fun to try.

The $3.00 of $15.00 coupon is always great to have.  I'm eyeing a Sonia Kashuk product that I can now get a little discount on.

The note in the box said it's the first edition, so think we may see these again.

FLOWER Cream Blush in Peach Blossom: Swatches and Review

Here we have the Flower cream blush in Peach Blossom.  The packaging is beautiful, simple, and compact.  I'm always drawn to anything white, add rose gold and I'm SOLD.

Swatches taken in natural daylight.

This is a gorgeous light peach.  It looks beautiful on it's own and pairs well with many blushes in my collection.  I found that this wore very well and I believe that even if you're not a huge fan of cream blushes that this still might be appealing to you.

This blush gets my approval for sure.  I'm going to be picking up more shades in the near future.

Flower is not tested on animals and is made in the USA.

NYX Mega Shine Lipgloss in NUDE PEACH With Swatches

This was my first ever NYX Mega shine lipgloss and I recently received this as a gift from a friend.
NYX's Nude Peach gloss is the perfect shade of peachy pink with a subtle shine to it.  I have been wearing it most days on it's own but also pairing it with my favorite lipstick, MAC Peach Blossom.

Nude Peach in natural light.

I have noticed that this gloss like to settle where my lips meet but being aware of it makes it an easy fix.

It's one of my new summer favorites!!  It has a high shine with a great reflective quality.  It smells like cherry candy.  Some people don't like the smell, but I don't mind it at all.  This gloss right here is what started my current NYX obsession!

What is your favorite NYX Mega Shine lip loss?

NOTD: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri 325 Peachy Breeze

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Peachy Breeze

I absolutely love this bright fun peachy coral color.  It was very fast drying but it left streaks with the first coat.  After applying a second coat it was completely opaque and gorgeous.  For $4.00 this is a great buy, especially if you're looking for a polish that will set in a second. I think it's a great one to have for the summer and would look amazing with a bronzed glow to your skin!

I hope you're all having a great weekend!

FLOWER Black Label Lipstick in LS12

For starters, I love the packaging.  It's a sleek black with rose gold detail.  I like that you can see the color on the bottom.  With that being said, the top has a funny shape so it isn't exactly easy to store upside down.

These lipsticks do not have names so this one is labeled LS12.  I prefer when products have names and not just numbers because they are easier for me to remember.

The color is a beautiful creamy rose pink.  It's very soft on the lips.  The only down fall I found is that it had a very unpleasant plastic scent.  Over time (5 minutes), it does become unnoticeable, but immediately after application it's pretty stinky.

Swatch photos taken in natural lighting.

I hope this helps some of you make a decision on whether or not you want to pick this one up.  Overall it's a great lipstick if you can hold on for 5 minutes until the smell dissipates.

Thanks so much for reading!!

Very Close Dupes: Buxom Creamcicle and NYX Butter Gloss in Apple Strudel

Lately, I have been obsessed with my BUXOM Creamcicle lipgloss.  After purchasing some of the NYX Butter Glosses, I noticed I was just as obsessed with Apple Strudel and Maple Blondie.   I have been going back and forth between the two lately and I'm seriously in love.

Here I have featured Apple Strudel as being a close dupe and a drug store alternative to purchasing BUXOM's Creamcicle.  While they look different swatched on my skin, you can see just how similar they are once applied to the lips.

If you have NYX Maple Blonde you could skip on Apple Strudel because they are very similar and you don't need to have both.  Both Apple Strudel and Maple Blondie are great drug store options for getting the same look as using Creamcicle at a fraction of the price.

I hope this helps save you guys some money while still being able to rock a beautiful coral lip this summer.

Maybelline Vivid Lipstick in Hot Plum: Swatches and Review

What can I say?! This is yet another amazing lipstick from the Maybelline Vivid's collection.  Hot Plum is a bright vivid magenta but it's not really a neon like some of the other shades from this line.   It's consistency was creamy and smooth.  It applied beautifully.

Swatches photographed in natural light.

I love the sheen that the Vivid's leave on your lips.  Hot plum wore on me for 5 hours and left a slight stain to my lips.  This color is going to be great for a variety of skin tones.  This is a great shade if you're looking for a bright summer color.

FLOWER Cream Eye Shadow in Wild Geranium: Swatches and Review

I was recently gifted a bunch of Flower cosmetic items because my area still doesn't have them available.  This has been one of my favorite items I've tried from Flower so far.
First off, I love the packaging! I'm a packaging freak and a sucker for anything white.  This is a similar type of packaging to the Maybelline Color Tattoos but it has a square shape that I am loving.

Once you open the package, you'll find the stopper. Don't throw this away.  If you've used the L'oreal Infalliable eye shadows, this is the same thing.  You'll need to keep it to keep the product in place.  I'm hoping it helps it from drying out to quickly as well.

The consistency is mousse like and so creamy.  It was a dream to apply and blend.  As you can see, it's much more of a creamy texture than the Maybelline Color Tattoos or the MAC Paint Pots.  The formula is very user friendly.

The color is a beautiful light golden bronze shade.  The pigmentation is amazing and the color was very vivd on the eye lid. I paired this with Urban Decay's Chopper eye shadow for an amazing summer look.
I found that the shadow performed better when I topped with a powder eye shadow, but I did also enjoy wearing it one it's own.  However, I do suggest using some type of eye shadow primer because after about 4 to 5 hours without a primer the shadow had faded terribly.

Overall, I think this is a great product.  Even if you don't like cream eye shadows, I would recommend you trying this out because it's one of the easiest cream eye shadow formulas I've ever worked with.

Once I can find these in my area, I will be looking to purchase more.

Thanks for reading.

NYX Love in Florence Palette in Bellini Kiss Swatches and Review

I recently picked up the NYX Love in Florence palette in Bellini Kiss and I have found myself reaching for it more often than not.

I have been really pleased with the quality, pigmentation, and performance of this little palette.  The only shadow I had an issue with was the gold one.  It was stiff and did not offer much color pay off.  However, I had better results when using that shadow wet.

Swatches

Overall, I think it is a great palette for the money and the colors are perfect for spring and summer.

Need an idea of how to use this palette, check out my tutorial.

Have you tried any of the new NYX palettes? I can not wait to get more! I sense a NYX addiction coming on!
